List of Federal Universities In Nigeria

Every state in Nigeria has one Federal University located inside it and that is a fact I believe everybody knows. There is also a Federal University located in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) – The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA). There is also the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). This explains why we have more than thirty-six (36) Federal Universities in Nigeria.

Many admission-seekers looking to secure admission in Nigeria often prefer to get one in a Federal University or Private University but the latter is usually an expensive option, hence, many choose Federal Universities. This explains why Universities such as University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), University of Lagos (UNILAG), University of Ibadan (UI), University of Port-Harcourt (UNIPORT), Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) and Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) too many applicants than they can admit every year.
